HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored the games first goal with 4:14 left in the first period when
Nicole McKernan scored the first of her three goals.
Olivia Matson and
Lexie Martinez had assists.
- With two minutes let in the first,
Taylor Sims scored to give AU a 2-0 lead.
Macey Horbach picked up a helper.
- AU led 2-0 going to intermission.
- 1:24 into the second, McKernan scored an unassisted goal to give AU a 3-0 lead.
- Finlandia scored their first and only goal of the weekend series minutes later.
- With just over two minutes to play in the second, AU added another goal.
Marissa Dunbar picked up the score with assists from Sims and
Sadie Parton.
- Midway through the third period, McKernan scored her third of the game for her second hat trick of the year. She was assisted by
Lexie Martinez and
Lauren Martel.
- AU won 5-1.
