The Aurora University women's basketball team fell in the opening round of the 2018-2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament on Tuesday night at Dominican University 55-35. AU senior
Alyssa Brems scored the final two points of the game from the free-throw line to reach and surpass 1,000 points for her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter was low scoring with the Spartans and Stars trading the lead back and forth. AU trailed 10-7 after one quarter.
- Defense continued to be strong from both sides in the second quarter. Heading to halftime, AU trailed 20-13.
- The third quarter kept the same theme with the teams locking down defensively.
- AU finished the period on a 5-1 run and trailed 31-29 heading to the fourth.
- The Spartans saw Dominican start the fourth on a 13-0 run.

- Brems would go one-of-two on two separate trips to the free throw line and sat at 999 when she stole a ball on defense with 33 seconds to play.
- Coming out of a timeout, Brems drove the lane and was fouled to head back to the free-throw line.
- Brems sank both free throws and hit and surpassed 1,000 for her career.
- The Spartans would fall by a final score of 55-35.
