The Aurora University women's hockey team defeated Marian University 6-2 on Sunday afternoon and in doing so the Spartans set a new record for wins in a season with six and points in NCHA play with nine.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Halfway through a scoreless first period the Spartans put the first tally on the scoreboard.

Marissa Dunbar got the goal with assists from
Taylor Sims and
Sadie Parton.
- AU took the 1-0 lead to the first intermission with
Chiara Pfosi making 15 saves.
- At 10:39 of the second period,
Bri Wood picked up an unassisted goal and AU now led 2-0.
- Just under three minutes later and on the power play the Spartans struck again.
- The power play tally came from
Lauren Martel as she was assisted by
Olivia Monzel and
Hannah Gwillim.
- With two minutes left in the second, AU made the game 4-0.
Olivia Monzel scored for the second time on the day as Sims and Parton assisted again.

Chiara Pfosi had 26 saves through two periods.
- The shutout chance ended early in the third with a Marian short handed goal.
- Late in the third with 4:46 to play, Monzel scored the fifth goal of the day for AU.
- After a Marian power play goal,
Nicole McKernan scored an unassisted goal to wrap up the scoring in the game.
- AU won for the sixth time this season 6-2.
