In a game of four goal runs, the Aurora University men's hockey team tied the Foresters from Lake Forest College 5-5 (overtime) on Friday night. A goal in the final minute from the visitors kept the Spartans from vicrory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored quickly, taking the momentum early.
Larry Jungwirth cycled through the offensive zone and fired a shot that was deflected off
Riley Doyon and into the Forester net. AU led 1-0 with
Brayden Sampson also assisting on the play.
- Lake Forest scored twice in the final five minutes of the period to lead AU 2-1 going to the intermission.
- After two more Lake Forest goals in the second, AU trailed 4-1 and AU turned to senior
Max Kirkwood in net.
- The AU rally started with just under three minutes to go in the second as
Roberts Baranovskis scored with assists to
Drew Doyon and Sampson.
- The Spartans trailed 4-2 going into the final intermission,
- In a span of less than four minutes in the third period, AU would score three times and grab the lead.

Drew Doyon got the scoring started at 7:22 with assists from
Riley Doyon and Jungwirth.
- 1:40 later,
Chris Nowacki was sprung for a breakaway on a pass from
Luke Picek. Nowacki buried the puck in the back of the net and AU was tied 4-4.
Anthony Tzveyn had a helper on the play.
- And just over two minutes later
Drew Doyon scored the go ahead goal on the power play. Tzveyn and
Connor Chilton had assists.
- AU led 5-4 with just under nine minutes to play in the game.
- With less than a minute (49.5 seconds) to go in the game and an extra skater on the ice with the goalie pulled, Lake Forest tied the game.
- The teams went to the five minute overtime tied 5-5.
- The game would remain 5-5 and end in a tie.
