Spartans serve way to victory over Lakeland

The Aurora University men's volleyball team served their way to a 3-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over Lakeland University on Friday evening. AU had 11 aces in the match, five each in the second and third set's.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans and Muskies played a back and forth opening set with the 17th tie of the set coming with the score 22-22.
- AU got kills from Justin Yost and Tim Breiter along with a Lakeland error to score three of the last four points and win 25-23.
- In the second set, the Spartans grabbed the lead at 6-5 and back to back aces from Breiter gave AU a lead they would not relinquish.
- The Spartans ended the set with five aces and hit .280 for the 25-21 win.
- The third set saw both teams make early runs but it was seven serves from Justin Elliott that included three aces. When Elliott's run ended, AU led 22-13.
- The Spartans finished off the Muskies 25-14 and won the match 3-0.
