- The Spartans took a 1-0 lead on a triple from Davis Purviance and double from Jeff Mayes to start the game.
- AU added a run in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the lead for the final time in the game.
- In the fifth, a triple from AJ Gill was followed by a double from Paul Dobravec which got the three run inning going.
- The Spartans used walks in the seventh to score two more runs and lead 7-4.
- An insurance run in the ninth on a run scoring double from Michael Fidler gave AU an 8-5 lead.
- Nick Mathey threw the final 1-2/3 innings to pick up the save. Mathey was one of five Spartan pitchers to throw in the game with reliever Drew Marovich earning the win.
- Jeff Mayes was three for five with a double and one run batted in.
- Colin Rivard was two for four with a double and three runs scored.
