The Aurora University softball team won a pair of eight-run mercy rule contests over Saint Joseph's Maine (11-1) and Simmons University (10-0) on Wednesday in central Florida.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE vs. College of St. Benedict
- AU trailed 2-0 after two innings.
- In the third, walks loaded the bases for AU and a sac fly and two-run single from
Sam Owens put AU up 3-2.
- Spartan starter
Stephanie Renner allowed just three hits over the final four innings to preserve the 3-2 AU win.
- AU took advantage of four walks with just four hits for the win.
SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO vs. Heidelberg University
- The Spartans found themselves down 1-0 after the top of the first.
- The offense got a lead off double from
Elaine Walker and she scored to tie the game on a
Sam Owens single.
- Later in the inning,
Heather Vetter scored (pinch ran for Owens) to put AU up 2-1.
- In the third, Walker singled and later scored again on an Owens single.
- AU opened up the game in the fourth with three more runs to take a 6-1 lead.
- A bases loaded single from Walker scored
Anni Wilson and
Megan Schwartz with
Brianna Lewis scoring one batter later on a sac fly from
Nina Tholl.
- Heidelberg scored three runs in the sixth off
Hannah Tomasko.
