The Aurora University softball team pounded out 28 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Lakeland University on Friday night, winning 10-5 and 8-1.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- Four of the first five Lakeland batters reached and AU trailed 2-0 in the first.
- The Spartans grabbed the lead in the second, scoring five runs on four hits with three singles and a
Mckenzie Flores double.

Josie Lytton reached on an error to start the third and later scored after stealing third and a miscue allowed her to score.
- In the fifth, Lakeland hit two triples and was aided by two AU errors in scoring three runs.
- Leading 6-5 heading to the bottom half of the fifth, the Spartans responded. Six singles plated four runs and AU led 10-5.

- Lakeland scored first in game two with three singles in the first scoring one run.
- AU had three singles of their own in the bottom of the first but the third single from
Josie Lytton saw
Josie Bachtell get thrown out at the plate trying to score.
- The score remained 1-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth when
Brianna Lewis led off with a triple.
Elaine Walker singled to score Lewis with one out before Walker and
Nina Tholl scored on a long home run to right center off the bat of Bachtell and AU led 4-1.
- In the sixth, AU saw the first two Spartans reach on walks before four consecutive singles led to four more runs and AU led 8-1.
