The Aurora University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests to Hope College in the first contests played at home under the new stadium named for Dr. Sam Bedrosian.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- The Spartans fell behind 2-0 in the first inning following a Hope two-run homer.
- AU see Hope add two in the two in the third and one in the sixth to lead the Spartans 5-0.
- Hope added four runs in the seventh to lead 9-0.
- AU had a little rally in the bottom of the seventh with
Sam Owens and
Aly Teixeira hitting singles before
Heather Vetter doubled to drive in a pair.
Bryanna Perez appeared to double in Vetter but a substitution error called Perez out and the game ended with AU losing 9-2.
SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- Hope scored one run in the first inning on two hits to grab a 1-0 advantage.
- In the second, the Spartan combo of Teixiera and Vetter combined again with a single and Vetter double tying the game 1-1.
- AU took their first lead of the day in the third inning, knocking out five hits including a solo home run from
Sam Owens. With three runs crossing the plate, AU led 4-1.
- In the fifth, Hope scored two runs but
Hannah Tomasko got a strikeout to end the inning and AU still led 4-3.
- A Hope three run home run gave the visitors the lead and after adding one more run, AU trailed 7-4.
- The Spartans answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning and the tying run was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
- AU would fall to Hope 7-6.
