The Aurora University women's lacrosse team returned to Spartan Stadium and Spartan Athletic Park for the second of a back to back weekend of action, taking on the visiting Rams of Cornell College. The Spartans scored early and often in rolling past the Rams 18-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU opened up the game, taking a 3-0 lead with goals from
Margaret Flanagan and a pair from
Kristina Krokosz.
- After Cornell scored twice, the Spartans responded with a 5-0 run to take control of the contest.
- In the run, AU got goals from
Caley Backstrom,
Claire Carlson (2),
Janne Brown and
Ellie Blake.
- Krokosz completed her hat trick late in the first-half and the Spartans took a 9-4 lead to halftime.
- AU started the second-half with four straight goals with a fast-break tally from
Chiara Pfosi involving four crisp passes in the offensive zone. The final pass from
Ellie Blake to Pfosi allowed Pfosi to find the back of the Ram net.
- When
Janne Brown scored with 10:23 left in the game, the Spartans went up 15-5 and the running clock mercy rule was implemented.
- Spartan
Lexie Martinez rounded out the scoring with her first of the year and AU was victorious 18-7.
- Goalie
Reilly Armstrong had eight saves in the winning effort while
Michaela Yngve played the final six minutes in net.
