The Aurora University men's hockey team opened up a weekend series with St. Norbert College on Friday afternoon with the teams playing to a 3-3 tie through overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans fell behind when St. Norbert opened the scoring with a goal seven minutes into the first period. 
- AU trailed 1-0 going to the first intermission.
- The Green Knights extended their lead to 2-0 in the beginning of the second period. 
- A few minutes later, Riley Doyan got the Spartans on the board with a power play goal with 13:38 to play in the second period. Adam Keyes and Connor Chilton had helpers.
- With the Spartans short handed just a little over midway through the second, Adam Keyes found the back of the net with an assist to Lordanthony Grissom 
- Late in the second and just after killing off a five minute major penalty AU would take the lead. Keyes struck again with his second goal and third point of the game. Riley Doyan and Lordanthony Grissom recorded the assists. 
- AU took the 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
-St. Norbert evened the scoring at 3-3 with 15 minutes left in the third period. 
- AU goalie Josh Boyko made 14 saves in each the second and third periods to keep the Spartans in the contest.
- After 60 minutes, the game went to a five minute overtime period.
- Neither team was able to solve the opposing goalie in overtime with the game ending in a 3-3 tie.
