The Aurora University men's basketball team got double-digit scoring from five Spartans which propelled AU to victory over the Rockford University Regents 87-71 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans trailed 2-0 and after going ahead 4-2, AU would not trail again in the game.
- AU built a seven point lead at 15-8 on a big breakaway slam from
Will Hrubes.
- After Rockford managed to tie the game up at 19-19, back to back three's from
Justin Wierzgac gave AU some breathing room again.
- AU had a half high eight point lead late in the first-half before taking a 48-41 lead to halftime.
- Spartan juniors Michael Finley (7 points) and
Justin Wierzgac (led all scorers with 13 points) led AU in the opening half.
- In the second half, AU's lead remained between three and eight points over the first eight minutes.
- A 10-0 AU run over three minutes boosted the Spartan lead to 13 at 70-57 with 9:06 left in the game.
- Late in the half, AU freshman
Shamar Pumphrey rattled off seven straight points and a 9-0 run was capped on a
Bailey Vance lay-up.
- With just over a minute to go, AU led by a game-high 16 points.
- AU would go on to win by 16, 87-71.
