The Aurora University women's hockey team fell in a non-conference match-up at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Tuesday evening against Lake Forest College 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU got off to a fast start with a clean break out early in the first period and
Taylor Sims finished with a goal.
Kate Powell and Sadie Partin had assists.
- Just under half way through the first period Lake Forest scored to tie the contest 1-1.
- Late in the first an AU defensive zone turnover led to an immediate goal and AU trailed 2-1.
- The 2-1 score would hold up the rest of the night but not without a lot of excitement.
- Midway through the second period the Spartans successfully killed a two-woman advantage for LFC to keep the game within one goal. AU was down two skaters for 1:36.
- The third period saw a lot of back and forth action with both teams sending scoring chances towards their opponents.
- AU's best chance to tie the game came with 2:16 left in the game when they went to the power play. Several AU shots were blocked, saved or hit the post, keeping the score 2-1.
- The Spartans would fall in the non-conference game, 2-1.
