Spartans shutout Falcons to split series

The Aurora University women's hockey team shut out the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 2-0 at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon to split the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartan penalty kill unit held strong in the first period by killing off two Falcon power play chances
- Neither team could find the back of the net in the first period. 
- Emma-Lee Martel got the Spartans on the board with an unassisted goal seven minutes into the second period. 
- Just like the first period, the penalty kill units were flawless. 
- AU would take the 1-0 lead into the second intermission 
- Marisa Trevino provided some insurance for AU to put the Spartans up 2-0 with just over seven minutes to play in regulation. She was assisted by Mak Cooke and Marissa Dunbar.
- The Trevino goal came with the Spartans on the penalty kill.
- AU goaltender Chiara Pfosi and the Spartans made the two goal lead hold up as AU was victorious 2-0.
