The Aurora University women's hockey team defeated Trine University on the road in an important NCHA series opener, 3-2 on Friday night.

- The Spartans trailed 1-0 midway through the first period.
- With 8:48 to play, AU tied the game with
Lauren Martel scoring with assists from
Taylor Sims and
Olivia Monzel.
- The game headed to the first intermission tied 1-1.
- Less than a minute into the second the Spartans found themselves down 2-1.
- AU headed to a 5 minute power play shortly after tying the contest.
- With seconds left on that power play AU struck to take the lead.

Marissa Dunbar got the eventual game winning goal. She was assisted on the goal by
Sadie Parton and Nicole Mckernan.
- The AU defense and
Chiara Pfosi made the 3-2 lead hold up.
