HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans started out quick in the opening set, leading 3-0.
- With the set tied 5-5, AU had some unforced errors unravel them as they would fall 25-13.
- The second set saw both teams trade scoring runs as AU led 11-8, trailed 14-11 and came back to lead 21-20.
- AU would drop the second set though 25-23.
- The third set played much like the second with the teams traded offensive attacks.
- Down the stretch in the third set the Spartans managed to tie the score several times but never were able to grab the lead as they would fall 25-20.
