The Aurora University women's hockey team completed the weekend sweep of Marian University in Saturday's NCHA contest. For the second consecutive night, AU won by the score of 3-1 and with that win, the Spartans clinched the programs first appearance in the NCHA Slaats Cup playoffs.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sadie Parton opened the scoring with a goal at 12:54 in the first period. She was assisted by
Marisa Trevino and
Lexie Martinez.
- Marian answered back with a power play goal three minutes later.
- The game remained 1-1 going into intermission

Taylor Sims gave the Spartans a 2-1 lead at 7:09 in the second period.
Kate Powell recorded the assist.
- AU held the 2-1 lead going into the third period.
- Late in the third period, the AU penalty had to take action to secure the lead.
- Marian pulled their goalie to have a 6 on 4 advantage with under two minutes to play in the game

Chiara Pfosi recorded an empty net goal with 1:33 remaining in the game to give AU a 3-1 lead. Pfosi was credited the goal as she was the last Spartan to touch the puck before a Marian pass went wild and found its way all the way down ice and into the Sabre net.
