HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans let the Regents hang around for a good part of the set before pulling away late.
- AU led by six at 12-6 before the lead dwindled to 12-11.
- A kill from
David Miechowicki gave the Spartans a 17-12 lead but again the Regents got to within two at 17-15.
- A pair of kills from
Thomas Kovanic ended the set with a 25-18 AU win.
- The Spartans came out firing in the second set, hitting .636 with 15 kills and just one hitting error.
- Seven different Spartans earned a kill with AU winning 25-15.
- The third set saw AU go back and forth with Rockford early in the set with the Spartans grabbing a 6-5 lead.
- AU then began to pull away but never got a comfortable lead but would go on to win 25-18.
