Spartans handle BenU in three

The Aurora University women's volleyball team knocked off the rival Eagles of Benedictine University in three sets on Tuesday night on Lancaster Court, winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20). Spartan Lulu Torres had a game-high 13 kills in the winning effort.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS
- AU fell behind early in the opening set, trailing 5-1 before working back into the contest and taking their first lead at 13-12.
- The set was tied 18-18 when the Spartans got a kill from Sydnei Avery and ace from Dani Lauer. AU continued on and won 25-20.
- The Spartans hit .378 as a team in the first set winner.
- The second set was a back and forth, point for point contest until late. Tied 19-19, AU scored six of the final seven points in the set to win 25-20.
- Addy Gruse had three kills in four attacks in the set to lead the Spartans.
- The third set, AU never trailed after opening up a 5-0 lead.
- The AU lead expanded to 18-10 and an ace from Kaycie Wenzel sealed the victory as AU won 25-20.
- Celeste Cozzoni hit .750 (three out of four kills) to lead the AU attack.
