- As minutes fell off the clock in the first half, the Spartans struggled offensively, not able to capitalize on any scoring opportunities.
- Heading to the halftime break, AU trailed 1-0.
- In the 48
th minute, Benedictine scored, extending their lead 2-0.
- AU cut the score in half after a quick corner kick from
Cristian Correa to
Enrique Gonzalez who headed the ball across the box where another header from
Eduardo Carrillo found the back of the Eagles net.
- In the final minutes of the game, the Spartans had two scoring opportunities, both shots hitting the crossbar.
- The Spartans battled the entire 90 minutes, but would go on to fall to Benedictine 2-1.
