The Aurora University men's hockey team opened up the 2021-2022 season at Arcadia University. Six different Spartans scored goals as AU was victorious 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game got off to a slow start with six penalties in the first 4:52 of the game, three for each team.
- Later in the period and on the power play, AU got the games scoring started.
- At 14:12, Larry Jungwirth scored the power play goal with assists from Shawn O'Malley and Adam Keyes.
- AU added to their lead with 8.6 left in the first.
- Andrew Lane scored his first AU goal with helpers from Brayden Sampson and Connor Chilton.
- AU led 2-0 after one and led 25-5.
- 1:04 into the second, Matt Weber scored an unassisted tally, his first collegiate goal.
- Two power play goals would come midway through the second for AU as the lead grew to 5-0.
- Simon Boyko scored his first AU goal at 10:08 with assists from Lane and O'Malley.
- Connor Chilton scored at 11:40 with assists from Riley Doyon and Jack Jaunich.
- AU led 5-0 after two periods.
- Jaunich scored both of the AU third period goals, one at 5:10 (Weber assist) and a power play goal at 16:32 (O'Malley and Gio Procopio assists).
- The Spartans would post the shutout win behind 18 Josh Boyko saves.
