Spartan win streak snapped in five set defeat

The Aurora University women's volleyball team saw their seven game match win streak snapped with a five set defeat at Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS
- AU got off to a slow start to the match, trailing 8-1 in the opening set.
- The Spartans worked their way back into the set and kill from Sydnei Avery tied the score at 16.
- AU controlled the last part of the set and won 25-23.
- The second and third sets were unkind to the Spartans as they fell 25-12 and 25-18 to fall behind in the match 2-1.
- The fourth set again saw the Spartans trail but the offense got rolling and took a 7-5 lead.
- Midway through the fourth, AU trailed 16-11.
- AU closed out the set with authority as Lulu Torres aced AU to the lead at 22-21.
- Kaitlyn Beebe picked up two kills in the final three points to win the set 25-22 and push the match to a fifth set.
- AU never led in the fifth set but were down one for most of the rotations.
- The fifth set went 15-11 in favor of CUW as AU lost the match 3-2.
