The Aurora University women's hockey team got a hat trick from freshman forward
Peyton Elliott in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association opener to defeat Finlandia University 3-2.

Peyton Elliott scored the power play tally at 11:37 with helpers from
Marisa Trevino and
Stephanie Schmunk.
- Two minutes later and on the power play again, Elliott struck for a second time.
Olivia Matson assisted on the second goal.
- AU took the 2-0 lead to intermission with
Chiara Pfosi only seeing four shots in the period.
- Early in the second, Finlandia scored a power play goal of their own with a beautiful one timer.
- AU maintained puck possession but were unable to add to their lead and led 2-1 after two.
- Midway through the third and with the Spartans dominating the puck and zone time, AU struck again.
- Elliott scored the hat trick goal with assists from
Mak Cooke and
Stephanie Schmunk.
- With 1:22 left in the game, Finlandia scored a short handed goal on a breakaway that hit the cross bar.
- AU held on to win 3-2.
