Spartans shutout Lions to complete weekend sweep

The Aurora University women's hockey team carried the momentum from Saturday's victory into Sunday's tilt with Finlandia University. AU won for 4-0 to complete the weekend sweep.

How it happened
-The Spartans took a 1-0 lead 4:00 minutes into the first period. Haley Knauf scored with an assist from Erin Campbell.
- Freshman Ellie Visser extended the Spartans lead 2-0 scoring on assists from Mak Cooke and Marisa Trevino.
- AU out-shot Finlandia 27-5 and would take the two-goal lead into the first intermission.
- Early in the second, Darci Matson scored on assists from Marisa Trevino and Hannah Gwillim. 
- Peyton Elliott joined in on the scoring action with a power play tally. She was assisted by Marisa Trevino. 
- The Spartans would take a 4-0 lead going into the second intermission.
- To start the third period, the Spartans faced 5v3 play, but were able to keep Finlandia from finding the back of the AU net. 
- AU maintained puck possession throughout the third period and would go on to win 4-0.
