Chiara Pfosi was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Defensive Player of the Week following AU's weekend season opening sweep of Chatham University.
Pfosi earned NCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors after a strong showing in net covering both games of the season-opening sweep of Chatham University. She went 2-0 on the weekend, starting with 26 saves on opening night while finishing with the shutout victory. She then had 14 saves in two periods of action in game two, allowing the first goal of the season. She stopped 40 of the 41 shots sent her way on the weekend, posting a 0.60 goals-against average and an impressive .976 save percentage.
Next action for the Spartan women's hockey team comes on Friday, November 5 when they travel to Bethel University. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. in St. Paul Minnesota.
