The Aurora University men's cross country team finished second at the Red/White Invite hosted by North Central College. Six Spartans ran their last race of the 2021 season.
Senior
Miguel Gonzalez led AU with a time of 16:16.7. Also scoring for the Spartans was
Chase Pruett,
John Hunter,
Francis Balquin, and
Alex Requena.
The entire team improved from the first meet of the season. Gonzalez by :29, Pruett by 1:06, Hunter by :22, Balquin by :53, Requena by :22, and
Hugo Diego dropped 1:47.
"Today was an excellent bounce back from conference for a bunch of our group," said Coach
Alex Lowe. "We raced an equivalent distance to start the season and 100% of athletes ran faster than they did on that day. That's a big-time way for this group to end the season. I was especially impressed by senior
Miguel Gonzalez pushing himself and finishing his collegiate cross country career off right."
Next action for the Spartan men's cross country team comes on Saturday, November 13 when they travel to Rock Island, IL for the NCAA Division III Regional Meet.
