The Aurora University Spartan football team clinched a share of the 2021 Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division III playoffs with a 38-20 victory at Lakeland University on Saturday.

- With the win, the Spartans clinched a share of the 2021 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship
- AU will make the programs sixth NCAA Playoff appearance after winning the eighth conference championship. The Spartans first played in a football conference in 1998.

- One play after the Romious interceptiom, Zimbelman hit
Brock Harner from 33 yards out and AU led 26-13.
- After trading possessions, Lakeland scored late in the third quarter to pull within six at 26-20.
- On the first posession of the fourth quarter, the offense went to work.
- An 11-play, 71-yard drive that took 5:26 off the clock resulted in a Zimbelman one yard touchdown run and AU led 32-20.
- The defense got the ball back with a fourth down stop inside Lakeland territory.
