Aurora University setter Kaitlyn Beebe and libero/defensive specialist Kaycie Wenzel have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Players of the Week. Beebe and Wenzel helped lead the Spartans to the 2021 Northern Athletics Collegiate College Tournament Championship and a fourth appearance for the program in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Offense Player of the Week - Kaitlyn Beebe, a junior, directed the AU, averaging 37 assists per match and 10.57 per set with 40 in the NACC Final win over CUW and 34 in the semi-final win over St Norbert. Additionally, she added 3.71 digs per set with a double-double of 40 assists and 17 digs against CUW.
Defensive Player of the Week- Kaycie Wenzel,a junior, led the AU defensive effort on the Spartans way to collecting the 2021 NACC Tournament Championship with a 3-1 win over Concordia Wisconsin. She had 24 digs in the tournament final with 13 in the semi-final victory over St. Norbert. On the week she averaged 5.29 digs per set and 18.5 per match.
Next up for women's volleyball (20-8 overall) comes on Friday, November 12 at 3:00 p.m. against Claremont Mudd Scripps Colleges in Waverly, Iowa and Wartburg College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament.
