The Aurora University football offensive line got some national recognition today when D3football.com named the unit to the Team of the Week. The weekly recognition is the second time in the 2021 season that the AU offensive line has received this honor.
The offensive line of
Chris Toth,
Jackson Nazos,
Oscar Nava,
Jalen Cole and
Matt Kickel, paved the way for 329 yards on the ground as AU defeated Lakeland 38-20 to clinch at least a share of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference title and the conference's automatic bid. That helped running back
Tyran Bailey to rush for 213 yards on the day.
On the season, AU is 7-2 overall and 7-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference while averaging 240.4 yards per game rushing, 261.6 yards per game passing and scoring 47.2 points per game.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, November 13 when they travel to Concordia University Wisconsin. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Mequon, Wisconsin.
