- With 1:17 left in the first period, the Spartans tied the contest when Ellie Visser scored on an unassisted tally.
- This goal brought the teddy bears from the stands on the Toys for Tots Teddy Toss event.
- AU and CUW remained tied 1-1 going into the first intermission.
- The Spartans jumped out early in the second period and took a 2-1 lead when Stephanie Schmunk scored a power play tally. She was assisted by Olivia Matson and Darci Matson.
- The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the period.
- Stephanie Schmunk scored her second goal of the night, providing some insurance for AU to put the Spartans up 3-1 midway through the third period. Schmunk was assisted by Olivia Matson and Darci Matson.
- Just over one minute later, CUW scored and AU lead 3-2 with 10 minutes left to play in the third period.
- CUW pulled their goalie for an extra skater with a minute left to play.
- AU goaltender Chiara Pfosi and the Spartans were able to keep the Falcons from finding the back of the AU net.
