- AU had the game on several occasions of a basket tying or giving the Spartans the lead but it wasn't until 2:46 to go in the second when the game was tied for the first time since 0-0.
- The Spartans first lead then came almost two minutes later when Boffman converted two free throws and AU led 81-80 with 51 seconds on the clock.
- Lakeland tied the game with a free throw and the contest headed to overtime tied 81-81.
- AU took a quick three point lead on a Schoon three in overtime.
- Three missed shots and a turnover from AU allowed Lakeland to take the lead at 92-88.
- Baskets from
JT Daniels and Boffman got AU within two in the final 30 seonds but the Spartans couldn't overcome the Muskies and fell 94-92.
