The Aurora University women's basketball team made a strong come back effort in the fourth quarter at Lakeland University on Saturday afternoon but came up just short, falling to the Muskies 60-57.

- The Spartans scored the games first bucket on a
Gabby Moore jumper but Lakeland answered with a 10-0 run to lead by eight 2:30 into the game.
- Five points from
Victoria Perry in the final 1:30 of the quarter put the Spartans down just three 15-12 after the first quarter.
- After falling behind by eight in the second, a 6-0 run pulled the Spartans to down two (20-18) with 6:29 to play in the half.
- A 10-2 run from Lakeland closed out the quarter and the Spartans trailed by 10 at 30-20 going to halftime.
- The third quarter did not see the Spartans cut into the deficit and heading to the fourth, the Spartans trailed 47-35.
- With 7:27 to go in the game, AU still trailed by 12 but the games excitement was just starting.
- A 10-0 Spartan run behind three's from
Victoria Perry and
Julie Galauner and baskets from Perry and
Crystal Rios found AU down by just two at 51-49.
- Minutes later a three point play from Perry and layup from Rios tied the game 56-56 with 2:01 to play.
- But in the final minutes the Spartans went 0-4 from the field and were out scored 4-1.
- AU fell to the Muskies 60-57.
