The Aurora University men's hockey team fell for the first time in 2021 with a thrilling rally to tie the game 4-4 before falling in the three-on-three overtime session, 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A power play goal late in the first period put the visiting Raiders up 1-0 after one period.
- Early in the second, the visitors again scored on the power play to go ahead 2-0.
- A short time later, Spartan
Jack Jaunich scored to pull the Spartans to within one at 2-1.
Brayden Sampson picked up his first point of the night on the play.
- MSOE scored two more second period goals, including another power play tally to lead 4-1.
- AU Head Coach made a switch in net after the fourth MSOE tally, turning to freshman
Matteo Paler-Chow.
- Heading to the third, AU trailed 4-1.
- Early in the third, a MSOE player took a major penalty, giving the Spartans a five minute man advantage.
- The AU power play unit took advantage, scoring twice.
- Tallies came from
Brayden Sampson and
Adam Keyes just b26 seconds a apart and AU trailed 4-3 with 11:09 left to play.
- AU again scored on the power play with less than four minutes to go.
- This time the power play needed just 8 seconds before
Connor Chilton tied the game.
Brayden Sampson picked up his third assist of the night along with a helper from Keyes.
- The game would remain tied 4-4 as the teams went into a three-on-three overtime session.
- With 1:23 left in OT, a turnover in the defensive zone led to the MSOE game-winning goal.
- AU fell 5-4.
