Zach Bernstein scored the first three Spartan goals in the opening quarter.

Harrison Canaday with an assist from
Brody MacDonald gave AU a 4-3 lead, one they would not relinquish.
- With just under a minute to go in the first,
Jacob Rimkus scored with a man-up.
- Each team scored once in the second with Canaday scoring with a man-up.
- Going to half, AU led 7-4.
- The third saw goals from
Joseph Dey with an assist from Bernstein then Bernstein scored his fourth of the day.
- After three quarters, AU led Augustana 8-5.
- Augustana scored twice in the fourth with the second goal coming with just over one minute to play.
- The Spartans managed to run out the clock in the final minute and won 8-7.
