The Aurora University women's basketball team were victorious over Rockford on Friday evening in Thornton Gymnasium, behind a 25 point performance from guard Crystal Rios.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game out to a slow start with AU leading 8-6 five minutes into the first quarter.
- Free throws and a lot of them in the opening quarter was the story early on.
- AU led 21-18 after one.
- Fueled by a 13-3 run to open the second quarter, the Spartans opened up a double-digit lead on Rockford.
- Senior guard Julie Galauner scored nine points in the second quarter.
- AU took a 40-28 lead to halftime.
- A Spartan 15-4 run with all scoring coming from Crystal Rios, Galauner and Tyann LeGrand gave the Spartans a comfortable lead at 55-32.
- Rios and Galauner continued to fill the basket in the third as AU's lead grew to 30 at 65-35 on a Rios three just before the third quarter ended.
- The Spartans coasted in the fourth quarter and won 80-56.
