Spartans lose to Elmhurst 9-6

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference match-up with Elmhurst University on Wednesday evening at Spartan Athletic Park 9-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams went almost nine minutes without a goal being scored to start the contest.
- Spartan Joseph Dey got the scoring started with an unassisted goal at 6:06 of the first.
- AU freshman Brody MacDonald put the Spartans back up 2-1 with Harrison Canaday assisting.
- AU was tied 2-2 with Elmhurst after the first quarter.
- After Elmhurst took a 3-2 lead, Canaday scored to tie the game 3-3 with 7:09 left in the second. Nick Stehr assisted on the play.
- AU trailed 5-3 going into halftime.
- With 9:30 left in the third, Canaday scored his second of the day to cut the deficit to 6-4. Rob Padgett assisted the goal.
- Heading into the fourth, AU trailed 8-4.
- The Spartans got two goals in the fourth from Zach Bernstein and Joseph Dey to pull AU to down two at 8-6 with 7:19 left in the game.
- Elmhurst scored the games last goal with 32 seconds left in the game.
- AU fell to the Bluejays 9-6.
