HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans and Cardinals traded leads over the first 10 minutes and with 20 minutes to play in the first-half the game was tied 4-4.
- AU took over the contest in the 10 minutes, out scoring North Central 6-1 with six different Spartans scoring goals.
- Leading 10-6 with one minute to play in the first-half, AU got goals from
Jalyn Yaukovitz,
Monique Gibson and
Claire Carlson and led 13-6 going to halftime.
- Coming out of halftime, Yaukovitz scored the first two goals and with 23::38 to play, AU led 15-6.
- After a NCC goal,
Danielle Cobbett and
Hannah Martindale scored and the running clock rule was enacted.
- Gibson and Cobbett scored goals to round out the AU scoring in the game.
- The Spartans celebrated with a 19-9 win over North Central.
