HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans got on the board three minutes in when
Bailey Simpson scored.
- Two minutes later
Jalyn Yaukovitz would find the back of the net to make it a 2-0 Spartan lead.
- Carthage would cut the lead in half only for Spartan
Monique Gibson to score two of her own.
- Carthage would score another, but AU would answer with another pair from
Margaret Flanagan and
Ellie Blake.
- Like clockwork, Carthage would score a goal only to see another pair of Spartan goals from
Claire Carlson and
Hannah Martindale.
- The two teams would trade goals to end the half. 9-4
- AU would start the second half on a 6-0 run with goals coming from Gibson, Yaukovitz, and Blake.
- Carthage would score three more, but the Spartans had the game under control.
- Gibson would score the final goal of the game, giving the Spartan a 16-7 win.
