The Aurora University Spartan softball team hosted Marian University Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference matchup. The Spartans swept with final scores of 9-0 and 10-6.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE 
- AU got on the board to start the game in the 1st when Aly Teixeira singled in Brianna Lewis.
- AU added three in the 3rd on another Teixeira single, a sac fly from Cassidy Rourke, and a single from Bryanna Perez.
- The Spartans opened up the game in the 4th adding five runs with the big hit coming from Perez with a two RBI single to put the Spartans up 9-0.
- Hannah Tomasko was perfect through half the game, but would finish allowing only two hits.
- The Spartans took game one 9-0 in 5 innings.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- The Spartans jumped out early again in game two with two in the 1st inning with Lewis scoring on a passed ball and Teixeira driving in Fiehweg on a sac fly.
- In the 2nd, AU would add four more with Spartans Perez and Lewis hitting extra base hits to drive runners in.
- Marian bats came alive in the 2nd as they brought four across to score. 6-4 Spartans.
- Spartans Lexie Rayborn and Tyler Chambers would drive in another pair in the 3rd to extend the lead to 8-4.
- The Sabres would add another in the bottom half to make it 8-5.
- In the 4th, the Spartan bats would force three errors from the Sabres to bring home two more and a 10-5 game.
- Marian would get their final run in the 4th, 10-6.
- Courtney Rickard came into the game in relief to hold the Sabre offense to just two runs in the game.
