- The Spartans got on the board early in the 14th minute when Justin Rutherford scored, assisted by Salvador Garcia.
- In the 36th minute the Cougars would tie it up on a penalty kick goal.
- In the 44th minute, just before half, Spartan Gerardo Estrada would set up Evan Kocsis to retake the lead 2-1.
- In the 65th minute, AU would extend their lead with goal from Enrique Gonzalez.
- The Spartans would win the game 3-1.
