The Aurora University Spartan softball team, led by 23 hits in the doubleheader swept a doubleheader at Franklin College, winning 3-2 and 10-2 (6 innings).

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE 
- The Spartans took a 1-0 lead just two batters into the game. Brianna Lewis led off with a double and scored on a single from Jemma Fiehweg.
- The game remained 1-0 as pitcher Hannah Tomasko allowed two singles through three innings, striking out three.
- In the fourth, Aly Teixeira led off with a single and pinch runner Ally Vogel scored on a double from Lexie Rayborn for a 2-0 Spartan lead.
- Franklin scored the first run of the season on the Spartans in the bottom of the fourth, with three singles and an error leading to the two runs.
- In the sixth, AU pushed across the eventual winning run. 
- A lead-off single from Ashley Talaga and bunt hit from Faith Biggs allowed AU to manufacture the run. With one out, Delilah Aguirre grounded out with Talaga scoring.
- Frankling threatened in the seventh but Tomasko struck out the final two batters to seal the 3-2 victory.

- The Spartans scored twice in the top of the first courtesy of Franklin error and a Lexie Rayborn run scoring double.
- The game remained 2-0 until the bottom of the third when Franklin tied the game.
- AU answered right away as they loaded the bases quickly to start the fourth.
- The Spartans scored five times on four hits and took advantage of one Franklin error. 
- Aly Teixeira drove in two with a single while Brianna Lewis and Josephine Lytton had rbis as well in the five run frame.
- Spartan freshman Courtney Rickard settled in the limited Franklin as the AU bats kept pushing.
- AU added three runs in the top of the sixth to bring the mercy rule into play.
- Teixeira drove in Lytton who led off with a triple and then a fielding error led to two more Spartan runs scoring.
- Rickard struck out the last hitter of the game for her first collegiate win.
