The Aurora University Spartan softball team played a conference doubleheader against Rockford University Monday afternoon. The Spartans swept the Regents 8-0 (5 innings) and 9-2.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE 
- The scoring started early for the Spartans when Lexie Rayborn blasted her fourth home run of the season to center field in the 1st inning to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. The ball hit the top of the fence at the 220 mark and bounced over.
- In the bottom of the second Delilah Aguirre doubled, Ashley Talaga took note on deck and doubled to left field as well to score Aguirre. 2-0 Spartans.
- In the third Brianna Lewis would reach on a bunt single and later score on a Rayborn sac fly. 
- The big inning for AU would come in the fourth when one would score on a Cassidy Rourke single and two more on a Josephine Lytton double. AU led 6-0.
- In the fifth Aguirre would double in Faith Biggs to make it 7-0.
- Rourke would end the game early with a sac fly to score Heather Vetter and complete an 8-0 win in five innings for the Spartans.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- The Spartans picked up where they left off scoring three in the 1st inning.
- Lytton, Aly Teixeira, and Bryanna Perez had RBIs in the inning.
- In the top of the second the Regents would score their first run of the day.
- The Spartan kept their foot on the pedal, though, as they would bring three more across in the bottom half with Rayborn and Perez knocking the runners in.
- The bats would go quiet on both sides until the fifth when RU would score again courtesy of a pair of two out errors to make it 6-2 Spartans.
- In the bottom half the Spartans would score two on a Lewis single a sac bunt by Lytton to score Tyler Chambers.
- In the sixth Abbey Miller would bring in Vetter to stretch the Spartan lead to 9-2.
- Taylor Shaw would shut the door on the Regents and give the Spartans their 19th win of the season and complete the days sweep.
