The Spartan baseball traveled to Rockford University Tuesday to open up their conference play. The Spartans swept their doubleheader with scores of 17-1 (7 innings) and 8-2.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS -
- The Spartans scored two in the 1st when Justin Sartori singled to center to bring in Jacob Ambuel and Dylan White.
- The Regents scored one in the bottom half on two hits.
- In the 3rd, the Spartans would add two more on a Collin Meinert double, Meinert would later score on a ground out.
- AU scored two more in the 4th when Jett Wedekind was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Sartori would bring in one more with another single.
- The Spartan offense exploded in the 6th for 10 runs with Nico Bermeo, Josh Reinhardt, Nick Baldassano, Corey Vondra, Ambuel, and Wedekind all having RBIs.
- The final run came in the 7th when Meinert would single to bring in Jack Seefeldt.

- AU brought two more home in the 5th when Justin Sartori doubled to left.
- The Spartan defense gave up two in the 5th on one hit and two errors.
- Two more scored for the Spartans in the 7th on a Jett Wedekind single and Josh Reinhardt double. 8-2 Spartans.
- Alec Strupp, Nathan Smith, and Seth Gutknecht came on in relief for starter Carter Turnquist and did not allow a hit.
- The Spartans won 8-2.
