Julie Galauner received some post season recognition today as D3hoops.com released their 2020-2021 All-Region Teams.
Galauner was selected as a Second-Team selection in the Central Region (
complete all-region team) and will now more on to a potential All-American selection process. The D3hoops.com honor comes her previous accolades of a 2020-2021 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference South Division Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference selection.
The All-Region honor follows up Galauner being selected as the South Division Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference after averaging a team and NACC leading 23.0 points per game with 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She shot 41.3-percent from the field and 39.1-percent from three-point range. Through the end of the season, she is second on the all-time list with 1,617 points as she is on a quest to catch the 1,693 points by Dana Lettow.
The all-region selection is the third for Galauner as she was a Third-Team selection following the 2019-2020 season and a Second-Team selection following the 2018-2019 season.
The AU women finished the 2020-2021 season with a 6-2 overall record and went 5-1 in the NACC.
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The women's All-American team will be announced at a time to be announced by D3hoops.com.
This is the 20th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 24th annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
