Spartans take advantage of Stars errors in sweep

The Aurora University Spartan softball team traveled to Dominican University Sunday afternoon for a conference doubleheader. The Spartans swept the Stars, winning game one 3-2 and game two 4-1.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE 
- The Spartans scored early when Josephine Lytton tripled with one out in the game and scored on a wild pitch the next batter up.
- In the 3rd, Spartan Aly Teixeira singled through the left side to bring home Lytton again to extend the lead to 2-0.
- The Stars scored one in the 3rd on three hits and one error from the Spartans.
- AU scored again in the 4th with Ashley Talaga coming in as the Stars made a throwing error trying to throw out Cassidy Rourke.
- The Stars would score one more in the 7th, but Hannah Tomasko was not giving up anymore.
- Spartans win 3-2.

- The Spartans scored again in the 1st inning with Teixeira bringing in Brianna Lewis on her single.
- The Spartans scored three more in second with Tyler Chambers, Jemma Fiehweg, Brianna Lewis, and Lexie Rayborn all getting hits in the inning.
- Spartan Courtney Rickard kept the Star offense off balance only giving up one run in the final inning.
- Hannah Tomasko tossed the final two outs of the game to pick up the save.
- Spartans win 4-1.
