The Aurora University Spartan softball team hosted Rockford University Friday evening in the second round of the NACC Tournament. The Spartans defeated the Regents 10-2 (5 innings) to advance to the NACC South Division Championship.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS 
- The Regents loaded the bases in the opening frame of the game. The Regents scored only one, Spartan Tyler Chambers limiting the scoring with her catch running away from the infield for the second out of the inning.
- The Spartans evened up the score with three straight singles in the bottom half from Brianna Lewis, Josephine Lytton, and Aly Teixeira.
- AU would plate four more runs in the inning with Lexie Rayborn's RBI double, Ashley Talaga's deep sac fly, a Jordan Seyfried single, and a double from Chambers before turning the lineup over.
- Lewis would record the eighth and final hit of the inning brining in two runners with her second single of the inning. Spartans lead 7-1 after one inning.
- After the allowing the first two Regent hitters to get on base, Spartan Hannah Tomasko settled in and retired the next three hitters in the inning.
- The Regents scored one in the 3rd to cut their deficit to five as the Spartans still led 7-2.
- The Spartans brought home three in the 3rd, the big hit coming on the 2 RBI ground rule double off the bat of Teixeira.
- Spartans win 10-2 in five innings.
