The Aurora University Spartan football returned home to Spartan Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon and dominated the visiting Cougars of Concordia University Chicago in all aspects of the game, winning 70-0. AU put up 483 yards of offense while the defense allowed just 52 yards against.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, AU scored on seven of their eight possessions and eventually 10 of their 14 possessions of the game.
- Spartan
Cameron Moore returned the opening kickoff 66 yards to the CUC 24 yard line.
- Four plays later,
Gavin Zimbelman found Moore from 12 yards out and AU led 7-0.
- On the following kickoff,
Sean Kerr was successful with his pooch kick once again and the AU offense had the ball at the CUC 32.
- Five plays after, Zimbelman scampered 17 yards into the end zone and AU led 14-0.
- On the first CUC possession,
Colin Dominski recovered a fumble that was forced by
Ernesto Ramirez to set up the offense at the CUC 37.
- The offenses third drive took just five more plays to score with Zimbelman connecting with
Colton Jewell from 13-yards. Kerr's pat was blocked and AU led 20-0.
- The defense forced a quick three and out with
James Mautino returning the punt 31 yards but a penalty negated much of his return.
- On the next play, Zimbelman hit Moore for 76 yards and a score. After the successful point after try, AU led 27-0.
- Each team traded possessions before the Spartans were able to take advantage of another CUC miscue.Â
- A bad snap on a punt resulted in AU making a tackle at the one yard line.Â

Tyran Bailey found the end zone on the next play. At the end of one quarter, AU led 33-0.
- The Spartans scored on both second quarter possessions, both Zimbelman to Jewell from three and 26 yards.
- Going to half, AU led 47-0.
- The third quarter saw rushing touchdowns from Bailey (two yards) and
Jonathan Alstott (11 yards.
- Spartans led 61-0 after three quarters.
- Midway through the fourth quarter, the defense added to the scoring column.
Isaiah Perrin tackled a Cougar ball carrier in the end zone for a safety.
- The offense then marched 34 yards on the ground to score the final touchdown of the game with Alstott scoring from eight yards.
- AU would win 70-0.
