Spartans drop four set match with #5 Calvin

The Aurora University women's volleyball team took on the highly ranked Knights of Calvin University on day one of the Illinois Wesleyan University Tournament. AU fell in four sets to Calvin.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS
- The Spartans came out strong in the opening set, leading 4-0 behind an ace from Gillian Hoerman.
- AU went back and forth with Calvin until the Knights ran off a 7-0 run to lead 24-14.
- AU was not done though as they rallied to down four at 24-20 before the final point was had by Calvin.
- The second set saw the Spartans lead from the first point and win 25-18.
- AU hit a blistering .361 in the second set and was led by six kills from Sydnei Avery.
- The Spartans hitting from the second set did not transition to the third as AU lost 25-16.
- The fourth set was well played and another back and forth set once again.
- AU trailed 20-19 late in the set but would fall 25-20 and drop the match 3-1.
