Spartans tame Cougars

The Aurora University women's basketball team trailed after one quarter but pulled away to defeat the Cougars of Concordia University Chicago on Tuesday night. AU was victorious 64-55.

How it happened
- The Spartan trailed midway through the first quarter 12-6.
- A 9-2 AU run taking just under four minutes put AU ahead 15-14. 
- Julie Galauner scored seven points with two three's in the run.
- AU trailed 16-15 after one quarter.
- The second quarter saw the Spartans and Cougars battle back and forth.
- A Gabby Moore lay-up with 1:10 left gave AU a 26-25 lead which they would take to halftime.
- The third quarter was all Spartans as they turned up the defense and pulled ahead.
- Crystal Rios scored 10 points in the third as AU led 47-38 going to the fourth.
- A 5-0 AU run, all from Jaylah Mays gave the Spartans the games biggest lead at 52-38.
- The Spartan lead be comfortable for the rest of the quarter as they tamed the Cougars, winning 64-55.
