The Aurora University men's basketball team got off to a slow start against Milwaukee School of Engineering with the first-half deficit proving to much to overcome as the Spartans fell 78-65.

- A 12-0 MSOE run early in the first-half put the Spartans down 16-4 with 13:42 to play.
- A Nolan Boffman layup with 12:12 to go put AU down nine at 18-9.
- Three AU turnovers led to a 9-0 MSOE run and the Spartans trailed 27-9.
- AU trailed going to halftime 47-21.
- The Spartans were hungry coming out of the locker room and when Julian Gatewood hit a three with 12:56 to go, the Spartans trailed 55-39, an 18-8 AU run.
- Late in the second, AU had a 14-3 run and pulled within 12 at 73-61. 
- Nathan Yockey knocked down a three to get the Spartans to down 12 with 1:53 to go.
- AU battled in the final two minutes but fell 78-65.
